Where Adventure Takes Flight
The Drones Way Up Store is operated by a certified UAV pilot
Robert, owner of the Drones Way Up Store, is an EASA-certified drone pilot (A1/A3) with flight experience.
While the advice on DronesWayUp.co is based on professional aviation standards and real-world testing, drone laws vary by region. Always check your local FAA (US) or Transport Canada (CA) regulations before takeoff. Fly safe, fly smart. Find out about drone class below.
Will you be legal?
In the US and Canada, staying under 250 g bypasses the most rigorous registration and licensing hurdles for hobbyists.
Ask Robert if you’re unsure about your specific drone’s weight class. Please email me personally at [email protected], and I will be happy to help you clarify if the model is sub-250 g. Please give me the make and model. Are you planning to use the extended-flight-time batteries? These are heavier batteries, which often result in pushing legal weight over 250 g!
